Jet kept its energy high and music rocking Nov. 3 at Tom, Dick and Harry's in Ashwaubanon.

The lights were jumping, bass was pumping and the band came out blazing as Jet took the stage at Tom, Dick and Harry's Nov. 3.
Opening for Jet was local legend, Annex. The trio consists of lead vocalist Paul Hanna, his brother Craig Hanna on drums and Josh Krouth on lead guitars.
Annex came out to have a good time but not everyone in the audience was impressed.
"Annex was average as usual, but they had pretty cool video monitors," said Brad Hibbard of Green Bay.
Kara Walker, Green Bay, said, "If they were supposed to motivate the crowd they did a pretty bad job."
Despite the timid reactions from a majority of the crowd, the atmosphere began to change in anticipation of Jet hitting the stage.
Hailing from down under, Jet is currently touring the U.S. in support of its third album, "Shaka Rock."
Jet is known for its fast tempos and catchy lyrics. The band's first album, "Get Born," went platinum after the success of its first single, "Are You Gonna Be My Girl." The song has been included in video games, movie soundtracks and Apple used the song with shadow dancers for its early iPod campaign.
The band's newest single, "That Girl's a Genius," has been getting heavy airplay since its debut in June and was recently featured on "NCIS."
The band hit the stage ready to rock. Lead singer Nic Cester sounded just as good as he does on CD.
Drummer Chris Cester surprised the crowd by providing lead vocals while drumming on two tracks and never missed a beat.
Equally impressive was the behind-the-back guitar playing by Cameron Muncey during the song "Cold Hard Bitch."
Although the band came out ready to party, the crowd never seemed to properly respond.
"The show was awesome but the crowd sucked," said Walker. "I didn't realize we were at the opera because that was how the crowd acted."
Hibbard added, "The crowd was pretty lame, everyone was standing still."
Walker and Hibbard weren't the only ones to notice the crowd's lack of enthusiasm.
Jessie Larock, Green Bay, said, "I was in the 15th row and let's just say there was more action going on at the Brown County Library than there was in the 10th to 15th rows."
Bob Larock, Green Bay, said, "Jet rocked the place but I thought the crowd was weak. For Tom, Dick and Harry's to come in to Green Bay and bring us world- wide acts, people just weren't getting into it. They should have respected the band. They put on one hell of a show and I really enjoyed it."
The best reaction the band got from the crowd was during their only ballad, "Look What You've Done."
Not all of the crowd was timid, as anyone in the first three rows can attest. There were plenty of fans singing along and pushing their way to the front of the stage to get up close and personal with the band.
"Jet was fantastic," Jessie Larock said. "I've been waiting for it, had a great time, it wasn't long enough but I'd come back for more any time, any day."

For being a bassist in ANNEX, I have to say that we put every drip of sweat into our show. We try to seclude ourselves from the regular Green Bay bands. (Continued…)
