Query the research due

Q: I was wondering, are there any romantic places on campus to take a date?
A: First of all, I'm not Miss Lonelyhearts, this isn't a relationship advice column, I'm the Research Dude, I answer research questions. And my research indicates that there are plenty of well secluded areas, for the many alcoves of the Cofrin Library provide ample seclusion for romantic entanglement, and there is the added bonus of the Cofrin Library being a veritable graveyard above the first floor. Plus its open late into the night, a whole hour later than the University Union. The arboretum is also sprawling and secluded, but you can do better than that. Nothing says creeper like a lascivious midnight stroll through an isolated patch of woods.
Q: Why doesn't UW-Green Bay have a football team? We're in Green Bay, we've got the Packers, but why doesn't our Division 1 university not have a football program?
A: You've hit the nail right on the head there, sport. Green Bay already has the Packers, why do we need to have a college-level football team to take attention away from the Pack? This was the idea of Vince Lombardi, who made sure that UW-Green Bay had no football team so the Packers could be the football focal point for the whole city.
I mean, that's fair, right? UWGB has a stake in the Packers, we scratch their back they scratch ours. We send our cheerleaders, along with cheerleaders from St. Norberts to Packer games, our cheerleaders get real world experience in the realm of cheerleading.
Sometimes they throw us a bone and offer unpaid internships. And as is evidenced by the wealth of inside coverage of Packer games published in the Fourth Estate, it seems like a fair trade.
What are we really missing on campus? A sense of camaraderie gathering around our de facto national sport? A decent homecoming? A stronger connection to other major schools? Pffffft!
Q: I heard that texting while driving is a bad idea, is this true?
A: Actually it is. This is a seldom talked about topic, you likely haven't heard much about it in the mainstream media. A new law was just passed that makes texting while driving illegal in the state of Wisconsin. This goes into effect almost immediately, dialing while driving wouldn't be a good idea either.
Q: I'm looking for information on haunted places on campus or in the area. Would the library have any information on this?
A: The library, of course, has plenty of books regarding local hauntings, however the newspaper you hold in your hands or peruse online has some interesting insights as well. Last week the 4e published a report of local hauntings, including the haunted goings on in other colleges like UW-Whitewater. Also, in the issue appearing two weeks from now, on Nov. 19, 4e will report there findings after having sent their own writers to investigate regional haunts. Why don't you look out for next weeks issue. Or take a visit to the &%@# library.
