Merril-T.B. Scott Mansion

The T.B. Scott Mansion in Merrill was built in 1884, however, the history of the mansion, or should I say the land, dates back much later.
A Native American village was located on the land before French traders settled it. The chief of the village welcomed the traders. The traders abused their welcome and one of them slept with the chief's daughter, Jenny, conceiving a child. Jenny died during childbirth and the chief cursed the land.
Scott began building his mansion on top of the cursed land. Scott never got to see the finished mansion because he died in 1886. His wife mysteriously died a year later. Their son sold the mansion, but it never stayed in the owners' hands for very long. Many of the owners had bad luck or died during or after owning the mansion.
The mansion was sold to the city of Merrill and occupied by the Sisters of the Holy Cross.
Since the Sisters of the Holy Cross have lived in the mansion there haven't been any mysterious deaths. Legend states that if it is late at night and you are driving past the mansion, you can roll down your window and hear Jenny's name being carried by the wind.
